AUBURN, Ala. — Marta Sivina earns gold in the heptathlon and scores ten points for the Commodores on the second day of the SEC Championships, contributing to the team’s total 18 after day two.
Sivina’s victory stems from her consistent performance in all seven events to earn her personal best score of 5935, while Gianna Bullock scored for the Dores with a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon with 5559 points. Bullock advanced in the record books to the eighth farthest javelin throw in program history with a mark of 38.30 meters.
In the sand pit, Lena Gooden refreshes her mark as the program record holder with a 6.39-meter mark to finish fifth in the long jump and beat her previous record of 6.31 meters. Sprinter Taylor McKinnon also completed the 100-meter hurdles in 13.46 seconds, replacing her previous 13.47 time as the fourth-highest in the outdoor records.
