Dores Conclude Final Home Indoor Meet

Win a pair of events outright

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt concluded the final home indoor meet with outright victories in the 60 meter dash and 400 meter seeded on Saturday inside the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center on Friday.

Haley Bishop’s and Madison Fuller notched qualifying times in the 60 meter preliminary race, with Bishop leading at 7.50 overall. The duo placed first and fourth with times of 7.42 and 7.51, respectively.

Taiya Shelby competed in the 400 meter seeded for the first time this indoor season. Not only did Shelby win the race with a time of 52.91, she solidified herself at second overall in school history with that mark.

Vanderbilt’s 4×400 meter relay team (3:38.01) came just seconds behind instate conference foe Tennessee (3:36.21).

Jordan Smith represented the Commodores in the 400 meter unseeded and with a time of 57.32, placed seventh overall.

In a stacked shot put event, Divine Oladipo contented against Olympian Jessica Ramsey and other top ranked NCAA competitors. Oladipo’s mark of 16.91m placed her fifth overall on the day.

Caroline Eck finished the 3,000 meter with a personal best of 9:27.21, taking the third spot in school history.

Vanderbilt will travel back to College Station, Texas, to compete at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships in the two-day meet on Friday, Feb. 25 – Saturday, Feb. 26.
