Dores Cap Spring Practice

Vanderbilt concluded its 2024 spring practice on Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt football team concluded its 2024 spring practice on Saturday with a scrimmage in Nashville.

It marked the 15th and final official spring practice for head coach Clark Lea and his team. Attention now turns to summer workouts in preparation for fall camp and the Aug. 31 lid-lifter with Virginia Tech.

“This is the most fun I’ve ever had coaching,” said Lea following the scrimmage, specifically talking about his role in coordinating the defense. “We’re in a time in college athletics where you can choose to be miserable among the chaos or you can find the joy. (All the off-season changes) have been a very healthy transformation. We brought guys in who know we’re going to win here.”

Offensive coordinator Tim Beck talked about progress on his side of the ball through the spring, culminating in a turnover-free performance in the final scrimmage.

“The best thing for us today is we had no turnovers,” Beck said. “That’s something we’ve emphasized quite a bit and we got through the day without turning the ball over.”

Vanderbilt is scheduled to open fall camp July 31, one month before the opener with the Hokies at FirstBank Stadium.
