Vanderbilt Athletics will host the annual Dore Jam event to kick off the 2012-2013 athletic year on Sunday, Aug. 5. The always popular fan day activity is scheduled from 4-6 p.m., and will be held at the John Rich Practice Facility, located just behind McGugin Center.
Dore Jam is free to all Commodore fans. The event allows fans to interact with Commodore players along with Head Coach James Franklin and his coaching staff. Players will be available for pictures and autographs over the course of the two-hour event. Inflatable games for the kids as well as free food and drinks will also be available.
Fans that have not yet purchased their 2012 season tickets will be able to do so onsite with personnel from the Vanderbilt Ticket Office.
“Dore Jam has become a great way for us to kick off the athletic year,” Director of Sales and Marketing Steve Walsh said, “We think that this is a perfect opportunity for fans to get up close and personal with our student-athletes and really develop connections with them.”
Fans attending Dore Jam can park, without cost, in the lots located along Natchez Trace between Vanderbilt Place and Blakemore Avenue. Some activities will be placed outside of the practice facility on Natchez Trace in the traditional Vandyville footprint. Once inside the practice facility, fans will have a chance to get pictures and autographs with the football team, along with the Vanderbilt cheerleaders and members of other Commodore athletic squads.
