Dore Duo Stays Alive

Célia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee move on to consolation semifinals in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — Vanderbilt women’s tennis’ Célia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee earned their second win in as many days Friday at the ITA National Fall Championship at the Barnes Tennis Center.

The duo defeated a pair for Brigham Young in two sets in the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket, setting up a Saturday match-up against North Carolina’s Reilly Tran and Abigail Forbes in the semifinals.

Earlier in the day, Mohr fell in straight sets in the quarterfinals of the singles draw. The sophomore had advance after defeating the eighth-ranked player in the country Thursday in the Round of 16.

Five Commodores competed at the Auburn Invite at the Yarbrough Tennis Center as well, with the duo of Amy Stevens and Sonya Macavei both winning in singles action while also combining for a doubles victory on the opening day of the event.
