NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Trey Del Greco, of Birmingham, Ala., has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Vanderbilt University on a golf scholarship, Head Coach Tom Shaw announced Thursday.

Del Greco attends Spain Park High School in Hoover, Ala., where he boasts a 4.0 grade point average while playing two varsity sports — golf and football.

“I am extremely pleased to announce the signing of Trey Del Greco to the Commodore Golf Team,” Shaw said. “Trey is a gifted student and exhibits extraordinary character. As an athlete, he is in tremendous physical condition and has a knack for winning tournaments when the opportunity arises, as evidenced by his multiple victories on the junior circuit. He and his parents will be a wonderful addition to the Vanderbilt Golf family.”

As a sophomore, Del Greco won the 2006 Class 6A Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) individual title. His resume also includes three victories on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT).

The son of former Tennessee Titan Al Del Greco, Trey is also the place kicker for the Spain Park Jaguars. The team is currently playing in the Alabama 6A playoffs.
