ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Commodores claimed two top five finishes and several seasonal bests Friday during the first day of competition at the Power Five Invitational staged on the University of Michigan campus.

A fourth place by sophomore Becca Schulte in the 600-meter dash and a fifth by senior Megan Huebner in the 5,000-meter run represented the top individual finishes for the Commodores. Two more teammates notched seasonal-best performances in the opening day of competition from the U-M Indoor Track Building which opened this winter.

“We had some solid performances today, and we’re looking forward to a good day of finals on the track and strong competition in field events tomorrow,” head coach Steve Keith said.

On Saturday, the Commodores will feature Jenn Edobi in the 400 meters, pole vaulters Sarah Bell, Caleigh Lofstead, Kristen Denk and Margaret Ollinger, miler Kendall Derry, 800-meter runner Reagan Bustamante and jumper Sophia Falco.
