Colton named to SEC Community Service Team

Vanderbilt senior captain Courtney Colton was named to the SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team, as announced by the conference Tuesday, April 19th.

Colton, a 2015 NCAA All-Tournament Team and SEC Community Service team member, the Davie, Fla. native adds her second SEC service award to her repertoire for his works with local elementary school children in the Nashville metro area and her work with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Throughout this year has student taught in schools around the Nashville area, assisting children in reading and math instruction. Colton created and implemented behavior intervention plan for students, and a behavior management plan for one of her classes at Vanderbilt.

Colton has also volunteered at Eakin Elementary School, helping out with their family fit nights. Through her time at Vandy Colton has been a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, here she assisted in the organization and planning of the department’s annual Christmas party and field day for elementary schools around Nashville.
