Wide Receivers Coach
Marc Lubick is in his first season with Vanderbilt Head Coach Derek Mason[apos]s staff after serving as an offensive assistant coach with the Houston Texans of the National Football League. Lubick will mentor Commodore wide receivers.
Lubick served four years with the Texans, including the last two seasons as assistant wide receivers coach. While in Houston, he also served with current Vanderbilt offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Karl Dorrell.
In Houston, Lubick worked with likely future Hall of Famer Andre Johnson, who continued to post stunning receiving statistics. In 2013, Johnson registered 1,407 receiving yards on 109 catches. In 2012, he recorded a benchmark season earning his sixth Pro Bowl trip and All-Pro recognition posting 112 passes and 1,598 receiving yards. It marked the second time in NFL history a player recorded more than 100 receptions and 1,500 yards in his 10th season or later.
In 2010-11, Lubick was part of a staff that guided the Texans[apos] offense to several franchise records, including points scored and total yardage.
Lubick has 14 seasons of coaching experience, including eight seasons collegiately at Colorado State. He served as CSU[apos]s tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator from 2008-09 and wide receivers coach from 2005-07. During that time, he coached seventh-round pick and former Texans receiver David Anderson, along with former free agent signee Dustin Osborn.??
Lubick launched his coaching career in 2000 as a defensive student assistant at CSU. Lubick spent the 2002 season was an academic graduate assistant coach at CSU, working with wide receivers. After the 2002 campaign, Lubick joined the St. Louis Rams for two years.
Lubick comes from a family of successful coaches. His father, Sonny, is considered the most successful head football coach in Colorado State history, served three years as head coach at Montana State, and also has enjoyed successful tenures at Miami (Fla.) and Stanford. His brother, Matt, is the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Oregon and was the 2012 FootballScoop.com Wide Receivers Coach of the Year in 2012 as a Duke assistant.
Lubick earned his bachelor[apos]s degree in Health and Exercise Science from CSU in 2001 after playing collegiately as a defensive back at Montana State University from 1997-99. ??
