Caden Thomson, a former student and graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech, enters his first year with the Commodores as an offensive graduate assistant.
At Louisiana Tech, Thomson contributed to the Bulldog offense directed by Todd Fitch, who enters his first year as Vanderbilt’s offensive coordinator.
Last year, Thomson was an offensive graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech, working with slot receivers, tight ends and fullbacks. The Bulldogs went 10-3 in 2019, capping the season with a 14-0 victory over Miami (Fla.) in the Independence Bowl.
From 2016 to 2018, Thomson served as a volunteer student assistant at Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs captured four consecutive bowl victories with Thomson contributing to the staff.
Thomson lettered as a receiver and quarterback at Hallsville High School in east Texas. He also lettered as a pitcher on the Hallsville baseball team.
In 2018, Thomson earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Louisiana Tech. He will be working toward a master’s degree in leadership and organizational performance from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College.
