Casali inks deal with Tigers

Nashville, Tenn. – Senior catcher Curt Casali inked a deal with Detroit on Friday to become the second Commodore to sign a pro contract this week. Teammate Mark Lamm signed with the Braves earlier this week. Casali hit .303 with seven home runs and 53 RBI in helping lead the Dores to the school’s first-ever College World Series. In his four year career on West End Casali played in 208 games hitting .317 with 27 home runs and 167 RBI. He was a 10th round selection by the Tigers and one of a record 12 Commodores to be selected in Major League Baseball’s June Draft.
