Vanderbilt junior guard Brad Tinsley was named the SEC Player of the Week after registering the school’s first triple-double last Friday against Presbyterian (full recap) with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. It is Tinsley’s first career Player of the Week award from the SEC.
The 10 rebounds and 10 assists were a career high, and the 10 assists was the most by a Commodore player since Alex Gordon dished out 10 against Furman on November 20, 2005.
Tinsley and his teammates travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the Honda Puerto Rico Tip-Off this Thursday through Sunday. The Commodores take on Nebraska on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. CT in the first round in a game that will be televised by ESPNU.
