Bowlers 11th at Hawk Classic

Nov. 21, 2010

MILLSBORO, Del. — Vanderbilt’s string of four consecutive championships at the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawk Classic came to an abrupt halt Sunday when the Commodores finished eleventh.

It was another mostly frustrating day for the Black and Gold, dropping two of its three games although Coach John Williamson thought his team’s sweep of Adelphi in the day’s last match was one of the highlights of a disappointing autumn of competition.

Individually, Samantha Hesley was 14th and Brittni Hamilton 18th in a field of 130 competitors.

Host UMES won the tournament and Central Missouri placed second. Vanderbilt will now break until Nebraska’s Big Red Invitational in January and will be asking Santa for a fresh start in the new semester.
