March 30, 2015
The Vanderbilt track and field team hosted its only home meet of the outdoor season last weekend — the Black and Gold Invitational — and the Commodores delivered an outstanding performance.
The weekend highlights included first-place finishes by Rebecca Chandler (Steeplechase), Sara Barron (3,000-meter run) and Skyler Carpenter (400-meter hurdles), along with a host of times/distances that ranked among the 10 best on Vanderbilt’s all-time performance list (see list below), including a new school record set by the 4×200 relay team.Â
It was also an emotional weekend for the Commodores, as the Vanderbilt track and field and cross country teams recognized their seniors during a ceremony on Saturday.
