Rosters for the Black & Gold series have been set along with the pitching match-ups for the first three games.
Assistant coach Travis Jewett will lead the Gold team and new volunteer assistant coach Drew Hedman will be at the helm for the Black squad. The Gold team features three Commodores that started multiple games in 2013 along with five pitchers that logged significant innings. The Black team has the Dores’ starting left side of the infield from a year ago and three pitchers that are vying for spots in the starting rotation. Full rosters for both teams are below.
Junior Tyler Beede (Gold) will face off against senior T.J. Pecoraro (Black) in the series opener tomorrow afternoon. On Friday in Game 2, the Black team sends sophomore Carson Fulmer to the mound to take on junior lefty Jared Miller. Walker Buehler gets the nod for the Gold squad on Sunday against Black team right-hander Tyler Ferguson.
The five-game Black & Gold Series opens tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Hawkins Field and continues on Friday at 4 p.m. After taking Saturday off, the teams return to the field on Sunday at 1 p.m. Monday, November 18 also serves as an off day for the series before wrapping up on Tuesday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 20 at 4 p.m. All five games will be scheduled seven-inning games.
