PHILIDELPHIA – The quartet of Grace Jensen, Jenn Edobi, Haley Walker and Reagan Bustamante broke the 4×800-meter relay record in the final day of the Penn Relays.
The squad clocked an 8:37.45 to take the record and fourth place on Saturday.
Jensen, Edobi, Walker and Bustamante are ranked third nationally as a group in the 800 meters.
The previous school record was set at 8:38.34 in 2017 by Ginger Hutton, Bustamante, Courtney Clayton and Maddie Criscione.
“I am very proud of our effort,” stated head coach Steve Keith. “Every leg was focused on the front of the race which kept the team in great competitive position. They weren’t intimidated. These ladies love to race! So much fun to watch.”
The event was the only one the Commodores participated in on Saturday.
