STANFORD, Calif. – In preparation of the SEC Championships, Liz Anderson competed in the 5,000 meter race at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Stanford University this weekend.
Running in the third section of the 5K, Anderson placed eighth out of 30 runners, with a time of 16:58.35.
“It was tough traveling right after she finished finals,” said distance coach Steve Keith. “It was not exactly the performance we wanted, but this is just the second 5K that Liz has run and she is still learning the event.”
Next weekend some members of the Vanderbilt track team will compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. as a final tune-up before the SEC Championships, which run May 12-15.
