Action begins at noon Friday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Commodores begin their postseason in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the SEC Indoor Championships. The event is hosted by reigning men’s and women’s indoor national champion Arkansas at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Friday’s events begin at noon with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles; things will get off and running on the track at 4:15 p.m. with the mile prelims.

Dore notes
• In three meets this indoor season, Giavonna Meeks has PRed and reset the school weight throw record three times. Her top throw measured 21.88 meters. She has been the top freshman finisher in every meet this season.
Julia Rosenberg has reset two school records (1,000 and 3,000 meters) and recorded the No. 2 mile time in Vandy history this season. She has dropped more than 30 seconds off her 3,000 meters time in 2024, most recently turning in a time of 9:15.99 to win the event at the Music City Challenge.
Allyria McBride has recorded three marks ranking in the program’s all-time top 10. She is No. 2 in the 300 meters (38.09 seconds) and long jump (5.98 meters) and fifth in the 400 meters (54.07 seconds). She won the 300 meters (38.09 seconds) at the Commodore Challenge and placed second in the long jump (5.98 meters) and 400 meters (54.64 seconds) at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
• At the Music City Challenge, Lena Gooden advanced to the 60 meters final with the second-fastest qualifying time of the day, 7.53 seconds. It is also the No. 3 all-time mark at Vanderbilt.
• Gooden owns two other program all-time top 10 marks. She is ranked fifth in the long jump (5.85 meters) and seventh in the 200 meters (24.61 seconds).
Anaya Webster picked up her first collegiate win in the long jump (5.88 meters) at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White. The 5.88-meter mark is fourth in school history.
• In the shot put, Veronica Fraley was the top collegiate finisher at the Commodore Challenge and the Vanderbilt Invitational. Her season-best mark is 17.21 meters.
Sarah Omoregie recorded the third-best mark in school history, 16.60 meters, at the Music City Challenge, finishing first among collegians. She has improved her shot put mark at every home meet this season.
• In the season opener, the Commodore Challenge, Santana Spearman recorded a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles, 8.43 seconds. She is now ranked third in school history in the event.  
Falon Spearman turned in a personal-best time in the 60-meter hurdles at the Crimson Elite. Her mark of 8.51 seconds is tied for fourth in program history.
• In the pentathlon, Madison Murray has PRed both times she competed in the event. She recorded a 500-point PR (3,540) at the Vanderbilt Invitational to finish fifth. At the Crimson Elite, she knocked another hundred points off her score, tallying 3,612 points, which ranks seventh all-time at Vandy.
• Eleven Dores have reset three program records and notched 15 program all-time top 10 marks.
• The 4×400-meter relay team of Gooden, Escobar, McBride and F. Spearman won the event at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a time of 3:43.01.
