NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will hit the courts Saturday at the Vanderbilt Currey Tennis Center to compete against No. 3-ranked North Carolina.
The Commodores enter Friday’s match undefeated after hosting the ITA Kick-off weekend where they defeated Memphis, 4-0 followed by a 4-3 victory over Oklahoma.
The Dores face an undefeated 5-0 Tarheel team featuring four ranked singles players, No. 2 Makenna Jones, No. 4 Sara Daavettila, No. 18 Aleka Graham and No. 21 Cameron Morra.
Vanderbilt remained victorious against North Carolina last season after defeating the Tar Heels 4-3.
The Dores look to advance their winning streak over the Tar Heels Saturday at noon.
In a swift turnaround, the Commodores will take on No. 12-ranked Northwestern Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Wildcats are currently 3-1, with a defeat by No.16-ranked Kansas marking the Cats’ only loss of the season.
Vanderbilt currently leads the all-time series over Northwestern, 7-3.
All three teams competing this weekend secured their spots in the 2019 ITA National Indoor Team Championships last weekend by winning their respective ITA Kick-off tournaments.
