Dores Begin Homestand

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt begins its two-game homestand tomorrow when the University of New Hampshire visits Nashville at 3 p.m. CT at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.
 
The Commodores (5-1) look to bounce back from a 14-15 double overtime defeat at San Diego State. The Commodores are off to their best start since 2008 when they also began the season, 5-1.
 
Gabby Fornia tied a career-high with three goals with her third goal tying the game in the final two minutes at 14-14 to end up sending the game to overtime.
 
Hadley Brown also secured a hat trick with her best scoring performance of the season. Brown scored all of her goals in the first half, with her third goal coming off an assist from Fornia, who currently leads the team with 11 assists.
 
Julie Blaze and Gwyn Devin each had another multi-goal game for the Commodores as both poured in two apiece.
 
The Dores continue to be dominant on both sides of the field and find themselves ranked third in the nation in assists per game (9.50), third in caused turnovers per game (15.25) and eighth in points per game (25.25).

Vanderbilt returns home this week for a two-game homestand. The Commodores face New Hampshire on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT and Winthrop on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. Admission to both games is free. The games can be watched online at facebook.com/VanderbiltAthletics.
