NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 11 Commodores will defend their undefeated 10-0 home record at the Currey Tennis Center this weekend when they host No. 22 Tennessee and No. 25 Georgia.

The Commodores sealed their sweep of the SEC West when they downed Ole Miss (4-3) and Mississippi State (7-0) last weekend. VU’s 6-0 conference record includes shut-outs against Mississippi State, LSU, and Auburn.

The Commodores (16-2, 6-0) are 2-3 overall with UT (9-7, 5-1) since 2001.

The Vols have won six of their last seven contests and are currently on a three winning match streak.

The Bulldogs (9-6, 5-1) are led by No. 28 junior Natalie Frazier, who is 11-3 at No. 1 singles. UGA doubles tandem No. 8 Shadisha Robinson and Carolina Basu are currently 9-4 at No. 1.

“The SEC East has some of the best teams in the country, and we’ll have some extremely challenging competition,” VU Head Coach Geoff Macdonald said.

The Commodores will enter the weekend contests following a huge upset over formerly undefeated No. 2 Notre Dame (16-1) on Wednesday. After the Irish snagged the doubles point, the ‘Dores swept the top four singles positions in straight set victories to take the win 4-3.

The ‘Dores will host the Vols at 2:30 on Friday. There will be free hotdogs provided (while supplies last) to fans in attendance. The Commodores will follow up with Georgia on Sunday at high noon.
