NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Seven competitors went undefeated in singles throughout the weekend including Vanderbilt’s Amanda Fish, Taka Bertrand, Catherine Newman, and Hannah Blatt at the June Stewart Invitational.
FIU’s Priscilla Castillo and Maria Pazo as well as Arizona State’s Nadia Abdala also remained undefeated through chilly outdoor Sunday competition, with a high temperature of just 48 degrees.
MTSU’s Ann-Kristin Siljestrom and Marlene Chemin were the only doubles tandem in the tournament to go undefeated.
The Commodores earned wins across the board in doubles on Sunday, with Amanda Taylor/Amanda Fish taking the win against ASU’s Kady Pooler/Roxanne Clarke 8-6, Courtney Ulery/Liberty Sveke defeating Murray State’s Rachel Lask/Hannah Lask 8-5, and Taka Bertrand/Hannah Blatt downing FIU’s Maria Vallasciani/Marijan Cutuk 9-7.
Next up for the Commodores will be the SEC Coaches Classic November 2-5 in Athens, Georgia.
