Women’s tennis departs for Greenville, SC for the 2004 Furman Fall Classic

9/22/2004

Vanderbilt women’s tennis team is set to play at the Furman Fall Classic in Greenville, S.C. The tournament is hosted by Furman University. The field at the classic will include Clemson, Furman, Iowa, MTSU, North Carolina, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

This tournament gives the team a chance to play high caliber teams that they normally don’t face in the regular season.

This tournament kicks off the fall season for the Commodores after last weekend’s cancellation of their trip to Knoxville. Vanderbilt earned a post-season ranking of #2, the highest ever by a Commodore team.

Led by seniors Audra Falk and Annie Menees, the Commodores look to go even further this season by reaching the NCAA finals. Draw sheets for the Furman fall classic will be made available on vucommodores.com on Thursday evening.
