Women's Golf in Fourth at UCF

March 5, 2007

ORLANDO, FL—Vanderbilt’s women’s golf team is in fourth place after 36 holes of the UCF Challenge with a final round to play Tuesday.

The Commodores shot rounds of 302-298 to finish 24 strokes over par on the long day. While Duke set a strong pace at three-under par as a team, Pepperdine is second at plus-18 and Georgia is at 19-over par heading into Tuesday.

Sophomore Jacqui Concolino and senior Kristen Svicarovich led Vanderbilt at three over-par 147. Concolino had rounds of even par 72 and 75 while Svicarovich had the same scores in reverse order.

“We’re close to bringing it all together but we’re not hitting on all cylinders right now. Jacqui hit the ball very well today. She’s hitting it much better than she did in Arizona. Kristen has been very consistent and competing very well mentally. She’s been fun to watch.”

Final round begins with shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
