The No. 17 Vanderbilt Commodores host No. 15 Texas, No. 23 Alabama and No. 30 Arizona in one of the toughest ITA Kick-Off Weekend brackets, with play opening Saturday and continuing Sunday.
Texas and Alabama open the weekend event tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. CT, with the Dores set to take on Arizona at 2:00 p.m. The winners of each match will face each other in the championship round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., while the others will play for third earlier in the day, at 9:00 a.m. in a consolation round.
The ranked trio of Jackie Wu (No. 23), Lauren Mira (No. 69), and Marie Casares (No. 110) will take to the courts with undefeated singles freshman Ashleigh Antal and the rest of an extraordinarily talented and experienced Commodore team.
They’ll face three ranked opponents Saturday with No. 57 Natasha Marks, No. 73 Kim Stubbe, and No. 107 Lacey Smyth.
The Longhorns bring in two ranked players in No. 47 Aeriel Ellis and No. 119 Noel Scott, but face three highly ranked players in No. 13 Mary Anne Macfarlane, No. 43 Alexa Guarachi, and No. 104 Courtney McLane.
Match play will take place at Currey Tennis Center, which boasts five indoor and ten outdoor courts.
