Commodore Notes
The Commodores split their four games last week, beating Belmont on Tuesday before taking the series opener at No. 20 Texas A&M on Thursday in College Station.

Freshman Connor Hamilton went the distance on the mound Tuesday in an 11-3 win over Belmont at Hawkins Field. Hamilton registered 11 strikeouts and didn’t surrender a walk. He held Belmont to two earned runs over the nine innings.

The Thompson’s Station native and Montgomery Bell grad turned in Vandy’s first nine-inning complete game since Bryce Cunningham in 2024. He’s the first Commodore freshman with a nine-inning complete game since Devin Futrell in 2022.

All nine starters in the lineup recorded at least one hit. Logan Johnstone, Tommy Goodin, Braden Holcomb and Ryker Waite totaled two hits each. Goodin and Brodie Johnston led the team in RBI with two apiece.

The Dores won the opener in College Station before falling in both games of a doubleheader on Friday. For the second time this season, Colin Barczi left the yard three times. He’s the first Commodore with multiple three-home run games in program history.

Brennan Seiber earned the win with 2.1 innings in relief of Connor Fennell. Tyler Baird slammed the door with scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth to earn his first collegiate save.

Vanderbilt hosts Eastern Kentucky at 6 p.m. Tuesday before No. 16 Oklahoma comes to town for a three-game series beginning Thursday.
