Commodore Notes
The Commodores fell to Indiana in the midweek and dropped all three games at No. 6 Mississippi State over the weekend. Vanderbilt returns home for four games this week against Tennessee Tech followed by a three-game series against No. 21 Tennessee at Hawkins Field. All three games against the Volunteers have been selected for television broadcasts. Game 1 will air on ESPNU, Saturday’s game will air on SEC Network and the series finale Sunday will air on ESPN2.
Colin Barczi returned to the lineup at Mississippi State after missing time due to injury. Barczi went 4-for-10 over the weekend with a double and drew two walks. Mike Mancini hit three extra-base hits over the four games, including a home run Sunday at Mississippi State.
After 25 games, Vanderbilt ranks second among DI programs in home runs, third in double plays turned, sixth in slugging and 13th in walks.
