Commodore Notes
Vanderbilt went 1-3 on the week with a midweek win at Louisville in extra innings on Tuesday before dropping the series at No. 7 Florida over the weekend in Gainesville, Florida.
Tuesday’s contest at Louisville saw a combined 21 pitchers used in the 12-inning affair. Vanderbilt scored four runs in the top of the 12th to defeat Louisville 12-8 in the Battle of the Barrel at Jim Patterson Stadium. David Horn earned the win after throwing three scoreless frames in extra innings for the Dores.
The Commodores offense struggled on the road over the weekend as Vandy dropped all three games against No. 7 Florida on the road. Vanderbilt returns home this week to close out the regular season.
Vandy hosts Middle Tennessee at 6 p.m. Tuesday night before No. 2 Arkansas comes to town for a three-game series beginning Thursday. Games 1 and 2 will both be on SEC Network. Game 3 on Saturday will air on SECN+.
