Vanderbilt second baseman Warner Jones has been named to the Baseball America All-America first team as a designated hitter. He is the first Commodore to ever earn first team honors.

Jones led the Southeastern Conference with a .414 batting average. He earned All-SEC and All-SEC Tournament team honors. He is the first Commodore with at least 100 hits in a single season ending the season with 111. He is the seventh different player in school history – the first on a team that played in the NCAA Tournament – to bat better than .400 for a season. He set a school record with 27 doubles and is the third VU player ever with at least 70 RBI in a season tying Clinton Johnston’s mark of 74 set in 1998.
