VU Women’s Tennis Opens Fall Season 9/22/2006 TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Vanderbilt Women’s Tennis will open the fall tournament season this weekend at the Roberta Alison Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Several teams from the Commodore’s 2006 spring schedule will appear at the tourney, including Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Notre Dame. Senior Amanda Fish and junior Taka Bertrand earned seeds in the Crimson Draw with Notre Dame standouts Catrina and Christian Thompson. Freshmen Catherine Newman and Hannah Blatt will officially debut with the Commodores at the tournament. Newman will battle Auburn’s Melissa Koning in the Blue Draw while Blatt will face Tatiana Feit in the Orange Draw. The tournament will begin Friday morning and run through Sunday afternoon.
