NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Vanderbilt’s baseball game against Ole Miss scheduled for 3 p.m. today has been postponed due to rain.
Persistent rain overnight and this morning caused the postponement. The teams will attempt to play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at Noon CT. As per Southeastern Conference policy, both games will be shortened to 7-inning affairs.
This is the second year in a row that the teams have played a doubleheader in the series. Last season the Rebels took both games of the twin-bill en route to a series sweep.
Vanderbilt’s starters on the mound will be RHP Caleb Cotham (3-0, 1.29 ERA) in Game 1 and RHP Nick Christiani (2-0, 3.71).
Members of Vanderbilt’s SEC Tournament Champion women’s basketball team were scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to today’s game. That will be now be rescheduled for a later date this season.
