URBANA, Ill. – Vanderbilt’s doubles team of Courtney Colton and Lauren Mira fell in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Championships Thursday afternoon at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The Commodore duo fell in three sets to Texas Tech’s Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3. Despite winning the first set in dominating fashion, Adams and Kilgo were able to bounce back to win the match.
Adams and Kilgo advance to the round of 16 where they face the winner of Georgia’s Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia and Rice’s Natalie Beazant and Dominique Harmath.
Colton and Mira finish the season with an overall doubles record of 16-14 and ranked No. 12 in the ITA doubles rankings.
