CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In the final day of the Kitty Harrison Invitational, the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team won six of eight matches, including four of five in singles play.
Vanderbilt began the morning picking up two wins over host UNC in doubles action. Erica Robertson and Lauren Mira defeated Gina Saurez-Malaguti and Tessa Lyons, 8-1, while Rachael Dillon and Alex Leatu topped Jennifer Stone and Laura Slater, 8-5.
In singles play, the Commodores squared off against Texas A&M, taking four of five matches. The only loss came at the hands of Nazari Urbina, who was named the singles champion of the tournament.
This weekend marked the final tournament of the fall for the Commodores. Vanderbilt will host Northwestern at the Curry Tennis Center Jan. 21 to kick off the spring 2011 season.
