NASHVILLE – For a Southeastern Conference-best 13th-consecutive season, Vanderbilt is headed to the NCAA Tournament.
The Commodores, who heard their name called during Monday’s NCAA Baseball Championship Selection Show, will be the No. 2 seed at the Clemson Regional for a second consecutive season.
Vanderbilt (31-25) is joined by the host Tigers (45-14), No. 3 seed St. John’s (39-15) and No. 4 seed Morehead State (37-24). The Dores open the double-elimination regional on Friday at 11 a.m. CT against St. John’s.
The Black and Gold captured the 2017 Clemson Regional, defeating St. John’s in the opener before winning two of three against the Tigers. Vanderbilt has advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in six of the last eight years.
Vandy enters the NCAA Tournament having won six of its last eight games. The Commodores racked up 17 wins against USA Today/ESPN Top 25 opponents while boasting the nation’s fourth-toughest schedule.
The Commodores are one of a nation-leading 10 Southeastern Conference teams selected among the field. Vandy is joined by Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
Ticket information will be released shortly. Due to an extremely limited amount of tickets available through Vanderbilt, fans are also encouraged to visit the Clemson athletic ticket office online portal here to purchase tickets. The Vanderbilt ticket office is closed for the Memorial Day holiday and will re-open Tuesday at 8 a.m.
