NASHVILLE, Tenn.  2015 was a breakout season for the Vanderbilt women’s soccer program.
Under first-year coach Darren Ambrose, the Commodores made the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2010. They also picked up a tournament win for the first time in 10 years and notched its most wins since 2009.
They also defeated two ranked opponents for the first time in 15 years. A victory over No. 8 South Carolina in overtime on Oct. 16 marked the highest ranked opponent they had beaten since the NSCAA started compiling rankings in 1996. Forward Simone Charley was named All-SEC and tabbed to the All-South Region First Team while midfielder Lydia Simmons was selected to the All-South Region Third Team.
