MALIBU, Calif. – Four members of the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team wrapped up day two of the Women’s Collegiate Classic notching two victories on Friday.
In the second round of doubles, senior Emma Kurtz and sophomore Georgia Drummy dominated the court against Arizona State’s Ilze Hattingh and Samantha Alicea to shutout the pair 6-0. This win marks the duo’s first victory as a pair this season.
In singles, senior Christina Rosca marked the Dores’ lone victory of the day as she faced Arizona State’s Samantha Hampton. Rosca commanded a strong start to take the first set, 6-4. The senior matained confidence in the second set to come out on top, 7-5, picking up her fifth singles win of the fall season.
The Commodores will be back in action on Saturday to compete in the third round of both singles and doubles beginning at 10 a.m. CT.
