#VandyBoys open preseason practice

Head Coach Tim Corbin and the No. 3 Commodores open preseason practice Friday afternoon at Hawkins Field.

The Dores welcome back 23 lettermen from a year ago when the squad finished as the National Runner-Up in the program’s second straight trip back to the College World Series finals after capturing the 2014 national title. Five Commodores have already garnered preseason All-American honors with Bryan Reynolds, Will Toffey, Jeren Kendall, Ben Bowden and Kyle Wright being recognized. The team also welcomes the nation’s top-ranked freshman class to the mix with 14 new members preparing for their first collegiate season.

Fans are welcome at Hawkins Field for the Commodores’ training sessions throughout the preseason with fans being able to enter the ballpark through the main entrance behind home plate. The team will be on the field Tuesday-Friday at approximately 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on the field Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The team’s annual banquet is set for February 13 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville at 7 p.m. Coach Corbin will talk about the team and coaching staff during the event with the team signing autographs prior. To purchase tickets call 615.322.GOLD or click here.
