NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With the professional baseball season underway, here’s a look at how some of the 40 Vanderbilt baseball alumni are doing in Major League Baseball and in the minors.

Sonny Gray – Minnesota Twins

Sonny Gray boasts MLB’s third best ERA through his first four starts at 0.82. Gray is 2-0 on the season and most recently threw 5.0 innings against the Boston Red Sox and allowed just one run.

Dansby Swanson – Chicago Cubs

Dansby Swanson is off to a hot start with his new club. Swanson is hitting .339 with an .825 OPS while continuing to make flashy plays at shortstop and is already making history in Chicago.

Dom Keegan – Charleston RiverDogs (Tampa Bay Rays Single-A)

Dom Keegan was recently named the Carolina League’s Player of the Week and hit his first home run on Wednesday.

Kumar Rocker – Hickory Crawdads (Texas Rangers High-A)

Kumar Rocker was named the South Atlantic League’s Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Rocker has thrown 8.0 innings over two starts and hasn’t allowed a run while striking out 12.

Spencer Jones – Hudson Valley Renegades (New York Yankees High-A)

Spencer Jones has three home runs to his name in his second season of professional baseball. Jones also has five doubles and has driven in nine runs.
