Starting Lineup

– Vandy improves to 5-1 with this starting lineup.

Postgame Notes
– Attendance of 12,034 was the largest at Memorial Gym this season.
– This was the 66th meeting between the two teams. It was only the eighth ever victory for Vanderbilt as Tennessee now holds a 58-8 advantage. VU snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Lady Vols. Vandy’s last victory came as a 74-58 win at home during the 2008-09 season.
– Vanderbilt Head Coach Melanie Balcomb improves to 397-193 in her career and 234-89 at Vanderbilt. She recorded her second victory against Tennessee (2-21) against Tennessee since coming to Vandy.
– The `Dores 93 points were the most ever for Vanderbilt against Tennessee, and the most for either team since the Lady Vols totaled 94 in 2004.
– Vanderbilt improves to 15-1 at Memorial Gym this season.
– VU is now 13-0 when scoring 70 or more points on the season. The Commodores are also 9-0 when scoring 80 or more, and now 3-0 when scoring 90 or more.
– Vandy out-rebounded the Lady Vols 41-27 and is now a perfect 16-0 when recording more boards than its opponent.
– The `Dores recorded only 15 turnovers to Tennessee’s 16, and stay undefeated, at 13-0, when committing the same or fewer turnovers than their opponent.
– Vanderbilt improves to 3-1 against ranked opponents this season. The’Dores also topped #12/14 Oklahoma and #17/15 Georgia.
– VU went 39-70 (55.7%) from the floor and is now 7-0 when shooting 50% or better on field goals.

Individual Notes
– Clarke led Vanderbilt in scoring with 23 points on 10-13 shooting.
– Clarke added 12 rebounds to record her fifth double-double of the season, and the 12 of her career. It was the sixth double-digit rebound game for her on the season, and 14th in her career.
– Lister added 19 points and a career-high 13 assists in the victory. It marked her first ever double-double.
– Lister’s 13 assists marked the most for a Commodore since Ashley McElhiney dished out 13 against UT-Martin on December 22, 2002. It tied the sixth most assists in a single game in Vandy history.
– With double-doubles from both Clarke and Lister, it was the first time with multiple double-doubles in the same game for VU since Holzer and Hannah Tuomi did it at Virginia Tech on December 30, 2010.
– Holzer almost made it three double-doubles, chipping in 19 points and nine rebounds in the victory.
– Foggie finished with 22 points on four three-pointers, six rebounds, and four assists in the game.

First Half Notes
– Tennessee’s Glory Johnson scored on a layup after a steal by the Lady Vols to open the game’s scoring. Vandy improves to 7-4 when its opponent scores first.
– Vanderbilt used an 8-2 run early in the first half to take a 19-12 lead over Tennessee with 12:20 to play in the period.
– The `Dores increased their lead to as many as 11, at 40-29 with 2:24 to play, and again 42-31 with 1:09 to play in the first half.
– Vandy went into the break with a 42-34 lead. The Commodores improved to a perfect 18-0 when lead at halftime.
– Holzer and Foggie both scored in double figures during first half action, totaling 15 and 11 points, respectively.
– The 42 points marked the highest first half offensive output for VU against Tennessee since scoring 42 in a 94-88 loss to the Lady Vols on February 15, 2004.

Second Half Notes
– Vanderbilt increased their lead to 12 after scoring four straight points to make it 48-36 with 17:01 to play in regulation.
– The Lady Vols quickly countered with an 18-4 run to take the lead at 54-52 with 11:42 to play. It marked their first lead since 6-5 at the 17:24 mark of the first half.
– VU’s 12 point lead was the largest it has blown this season. Previously the Commodores had blown an eight point lead vs. South Carolina on January 22, 2012.
– Vandy then hit back with a 17-2 run of its own, taking a 69-56 lead with 7:49 to play in the second half. Foggie tallied a trio of three-pointers during the stretch.
– The Commodores held steady for the 93-79 victory.
