BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Vanderbilt swim team leaves the state of North Carolina with a sweep, defeating the Campbell Camels 153.5-107.5 and the NC A&T Aggies 210-27. With the tri-meet victory, VU improves to 3-4 on the season.
VU began the day earning first place in the 200-medley relay. The Dores continued success throughout the meet without being shutout of a top-three finish in a single event, and to swim to an additional eight first place finishes.
“Good day of racing for us,” said head coach Jeremy Organ. “I really liked what I saw from the team today and I think we are in a good place.”
Freshman Johanna Goldblatt earned her first collegiate first place finish against the Camels and Aggies, swimming a 59.73 in the 100-yard back. Another notable win coming from current record holder Breanna Sapienza, who took first place in the 100-fly at a time of 56.46.
Both Vanderbilt and Campbell hit the road for their next competition, heading south to swim in the Georgia Tech Invitational from Dec. 4th – 6th.
