There were five lead changes in the opening seven minutes until 3-pointers from Edwards and Tyler Tanner in a 15-second span helped give the Commodores a six-point edge. The advantage would grow nine, 39-30, at the half after Edwards tacked on a layup and pair of free throws in the final minutes before the intermission. Hoggard posted seven straight points to spark an 11-0 spurt early in the second half that broke the contest open.
