Vandy Returns Home

Dores look to bounce back after the weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 15 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will resume its home nonconference schedule when it hosts No. 19 UCF at 3 p.m. CT on Friday.

The Commodores are returning from their weekend at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, where falling short in tiebreak matches became the theme. Among the losses, Anessa Lee was able to extend her singles win streak to 11, and the duo of Lee and Celia-Belle Mohr improved to a three-win streak.

The Knights are 4-1 on the season after a two-match homestand that ended with a victory on Tuesday against FIU. In the most recent ITA poll, Marie Mattel locked in at No. 48 in singles and also earned a doubles ranking at No. 34 with partner Sophia Biolay.

Friday’s match will be at the Currey Tennis Pavilion at the Lummis Family Tennis Center, and admission is free. Parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage on floors 8–10. As a reminder, the clear bag policy will be enforced at home tennis matches this season.

The Dores will finish up nonconference play at home against Middle Tennessee at 1 p.m. CT on Feb. 25.
