Commodores drop Game 2 in Norman

NORMAN, Okla. – Vanderbilt fell 14-0 in seven innings at Oklahoma on Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The Sooners took advantage of multiple defensive miscues and drew nine walks from the Vanderbilt pitching staff. Six of Oklahoma’s 14 runs were unearned.

Oklahoma hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first and never looked back.

The home team added a run in the third and broke the game open in the fourth with a seven-run frame on two hits.

Mac Rose and Riley Nelson tallied Vandy’s two hits on the day.

Vanderbilt looks to avoid a sweep Sunday with first pitch in the finale set for 2 p.m.
