COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 6 Vanderbilt fell 15-0 in seven innings Friday night at No. 3 Texas A&M in the series opener.
The Dores were held to four hits on the night while the Aggies scored in five of six frames.
Texas A&M jumped out to a 3-0 lead on back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Aggies doubled their lead with a three-run homer in the second to go in front 6-0.
Texas A&M added a run in the bottom of the fourth and six more in the fifth to build a 13-0 lead. Two more runs in the bottom of the sixth made it 15-0.
Ryan Prager tossed all seven innings for the Aggies, striking out 10.
The Dores look to even the series in Game 2 Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
