– Vanderbilt is in its 126th year of organized football.
– The Commodores wore the team’s Deep Water uniforms for the second time this season (Georgia).
– Texas A&M won the toss and elected to receive with Vanderbilt defending the north end zone.
– Attendance was 32,482
– Vanderbilt captains for the game were Ryan White, Oren Burks, Darreon Herring and Spencer Pulley.
Team Notes
– Saturday’s game was the first-ever played between Vanderbilt Texas A&M in Nashville.
– With the loss Vanderbilt now owns a 4-7 overall 2015 record and an 0-2 record against the Aggies.
– Dores trailed 16-0 heading into the second half.
– Vanderbilt is now 0-2 all-time vs. Texas A&M after Saturday’s first-ever meeting in Nashville.
Individual Notes
– Redshirt Freshman Bruno Reagan earned his first start as a Commodore, becoming the 16th Commodore to earn his first career start this season.
– Delando Crooks earned his first career start as a tight end.
– Zach Cunningham led the Dores with seven tackles heading in the first half.
– Ralph Webb led the Dores in carries in the first half with 16 carries for 67 yards.
– Tre Herndon had a career-high eight tackles.
– Oren Burks had a career-high seven tackles.
– Ralph Webb surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the season rushing for a team-high 79 yards, becoming just the fifth Commodore to ever achieve the feat in a single season. Webb has rushed for 1,003 yards in the team’s 11 games this season and is the only Vanderbilt sophomore to ever rush for 1,000-plus yards.
– Dallas Rivers had a season-high 30 rushing yards, beating his previous high of 26 vs. WKU (9/3/15).
– Zach Cunningham registered a team-high 14 tackles, including three tackles for loss. Cunningham now has six games with at least 10 tackles this season.
Offensive Notes
– Ralph Webb surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the season rushing for a team-high 79 yards, becoming just the fifth Commodore to ever achieve the feat in a single season.
– The Commodores rushed for 125 yards in the game.
Defensive Notes
– The Commodores held the Aggies to 6-for-17 on third down.
– Vanderbilt recorded nine tackles for loss with three sacks.
Special Teams Notes
– The Dores suffered their first blocked punt since Ole Miss’ Cole Luke blocked a punt on 9/26/15.
– Tommy Openshaw punted nine times for an average of 41.8 yards with three punts landing inside the 20-yard line and three travelling 50-plus yards.
– Dallas Rivers returned five kicks for 107 yards with a long of 31 yards.
