Starting Lineup
– Vanderbilt started junior Brad Tinsley and sophomore John Jenkins at guard, juniors Jeffery Taylor and Lance Goulbourne at forward and junior Festus Ezeli at center.
– The Commodores move to 4-3 when stating this lineup.
– Taylor has now started all 81 games of his career.
– Tinsley made his 73rd start, Ezeli his 29th, Jenkins his 23rd and Goulbourne his seventh.

– Vanderbilt improves to 2-0 against St. Mary’s with this being the Commodores first victory to the Gaels in Memorial Gym.
– The Commodores won the opening tip and are 13-1 when doing so.
– Early in the first half, Jeffery Taylor made a three-point basket to extend Vanderbilt’s consecutive game streak with a three-pointer to 780 games.
– The 19-point win matches the third largest margin of victory over a ranked opponent in the Stallings era. The Commodores beat No. 12 Tennessee 90-71 on February 19, 2010, No. 10 Alabama 94-73 on January 17, 2007, and No. 24 LSU 74-54 on February 21, 2004 with all four games taking place in Memorial Gym.
– This marked the largest margin of victory over a ranked non-conference foe in the Stallings era.

First-half notes:
– Vanderbilt won the opening tipoff.
Lance Goulbourne recorded the first points of the game by making two free throws at the 19:35 mark.
Jeffery Taylor hit a three-pointer at the 15:22 mark to continue the three-point streak and give Vanderbilt an 11-10 lead.
– With 12:07 remaining in the half, Taylor made a three-point bucket to cut the Gaels lead to 19-16.
Kyle Fuller hit a mid-range jumper to record the first bench points for Vanderbilt at the 8:32 mark.
– After St. Mary’s received a technical foul with 7:29 remaining, John Jenkins made a free throw to tie the game at 23.
– Vanderbilt took a 26-23 lead when Jenkins hit a three-pointer with 6:57 remaining.

Brad Tinsley made a three-pointer over a St. Mary’s defender to give Vanderbilt a 72-60 lead with 6:40 remaining.

Player notes:
– For the second-straight game, Lance Goulbourne had a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Brad Tinsley is the only player for Vanderbilt to make an assist in all 18 games this season.
