Ryan saw limited action as a redshirt freshman defensive end… Played in the season-opening victory over Elon, earning one solo tackle in the appearance… Ryan contributed as a practice squad defender through the regular season.


Ryan did not play during first fall on campus, spending redshirt campaign building strength and contributing as defensive end on scout squads.

High School

Senior captain… Started at multiple positions since sophomore year… Has started as end, tackle and linebacker on Marathon defense; also started at tackle on offense as junior and senior… Two-time Class A All-State as a defensive end and All-Region recipient… Twice named team[apos]s Defensive Player of the Year… As senior DE, produced 102 tackles, 10 QB sacks and a pair of forced fumbles… As junior, helped Dolphins to district title with 82 tackles and 12 sacks… Played for the USA squad in the ‘Team USA vs. The World’ High School All-American Game on Jan. 30 in Fort Lauderdale.


Thomas John Ryan… Son of Regina and Douglas Morgan… Born Jan. 23, 1992 in Bay Shore, N.Y… One of five children: brothers, John Ryan and Patrick Ryan; sisters, Alyssa Morgan and Krista Morgan… Dad is dive boat captain in Marathon, small community located between Key West and Key Largo; mom is high school office manager… Dad also wrestled at SUNY-Farmingdale… Avid scuba and free diver… Plays trumpet and french horn… Once operated his own live bait and fishing supply business.
