Nashville, Tenn. — Vanderbilt is set to play in at least 11 nationally televised games in 2017 with six of those games coming at Hawkins Field.
The Commodores open their Southeastern Conference slate on the road in Oxford, Miss. against the Rebels with the opening game of the series available on the SEC Network as part of the Bases Loaded package, which will feature all seven league games that night. Sunday’s series finale is slated for the SEC Network as well at 3 p.m. Vanderbilt returns home the following week to welcome Texas A&M to Nashville for the first SEC series of the season at The Hawk. The Commodores and Aggies will face off on SEC Network twice over the weekend, playing Saturday’s game at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s finale at 3 p.m.
A big series at South Carolina the second weekend of April will be broadcast in its entirety, with all three games airing on the family of ESPN networks. Thursday night’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on the SEC Network. The Commodores and Gamecocks will square off on Friday night at 6 p.m. on ESPNU before wrapping up the series on Saturday at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
Following the trip to South Carolina, the Commodores return home to take on Florida in another series that begins on Thursday night. First pitch is slated for 8 p.m. on ESPNU in the series-opener. Saturday’s game will air on ESPN2 at 2 p.m. The Dores’ Friday night series-opener at Georgia the next week will showcase the two schools on ESPNU starting at 6 p.m.
Vanderbilt plays its final two scheduled television games at home against Tennessee. The Commodores and Volunteers play Saturday at 4 p.m. on SEC Network and finish the series on Sunday at 3 p.m. on the SEC Network.
The Commodores will play at least one game on national television in six of the team’s 10 SEC weekend series with the potential to be picked up as a wild card game on two more weekends.
Vanderbilt opens the 2017 season on the road at San Diego on Feb. 17 before opening Hawkins Field on Feb. 22 against Evansville and hosting UIC Feb. 24-26. The Commodores host the team’s annual banquet on Feb. 4 in downtown Nashville at the Omni Hotel. To order tickets, click here.
