Vanderbilt Readies for Quad Meet

Commodores set to face Florida, Liberty and North Florida

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt swimming travels to Gainesville, Florida, to compete in its first quad meet of the season Friday.

Hosted by Florida, Vanderbilt will be joined by Liberty and North Florida.

Florida, ranked seventh in the nation, enters the meet as the highest ranked team. The Gators boast an undefeated 7-0 record and hold a 2-0 conference record. The Dores last faced Florida during the 2016 season where they fell short 163-69.

Vanderbilt enters Friday’s competition after earning its first victory of 2020 with a 135-127 win over Campbell.

The win marked the Commodores fourth consecutive dual meet victory over the Fighting Camels.

The Dores collected seven first-place finishes, eight silver finishes and nine bronze finishes to take down Campbell.

Vanderbilt last faced Liberty in the TYR ’85 Invite where the Commodores capped the meet with a third-place finish and Liberty concluded the invite in sixth place.

In the last meeting between Vanderbilt and North Florida, the Commodores outlasted the Ospreys 151-53.

The meet is scheduled begin at 1 p.m. CT Friday at the O’ Connell Center and admission is free.
