Vanderbilt Places Team-High Four Players on Cape Cod Baseball League All-League Team 8-14-03 The Vanderbilt Commodores continue to garner the honors in the Cape Cod Baseball League placing four players on the All-League Team. VU’s four selections on the All-League Team are the most by any one university in the history of the Cape Cod League. The CCBL All-League pitching staff includes Jeremy Sowers who posted a 4-3 record with a 1.20 ERA and numbered 64 strikeouts for the Wareham Gateman. The infield consists of shortstop Ryan Klosterman of the Chatham A’s who hit .279 and numbered four homeruns and 15 RBI. Joining Klosterman is third baseman Warner Jones who finished the season in third place in league batting average with a .344. Jones totaled one homerun and 12 RBI for the Wareham Gatemen. Cesar Nicolas, who was just named the SportsTicker, ESPN Playoff Most Valuable Player, is the final Commodore on the All-League Team. Nicolas hit .243 and numbered a league-leading 28 RBI for the champion Orleans Cardinals. Nicolas totaled five homeruns, including three in the championship playoffs.
